Gower Bike Ride - 6 July 2008

Your challenge

The biggest bike ride in Wales returns for 2008. Join hundreds of participants at the popular Gower Bike Ride and enjoy a great day out!

Choose from 2 routes, 16 and 29 miles, around the beautiful Gower Peninsula starting and finishing at St Helen's Ground, Swansea. The 16 mile route covers over half of its distance on the cycle path from Gowerton to Blackpill, whilst the 29 mile route ventures further west.

This year we have changed the start times slightly for your enjoyment of the day. You can start anytime beween 9am and 10am but you must be back at the finish line by 4pm to collect your medal and goodie bag.

The Gower Bike Ride is sponsored by the Sports Council for Wales for the second consecutive year.

Our Promise

We'll take care of all the arrangements: free car parking, toilets and the sale of refreshments will be at the start/finish location with toilets, water stops, marshals and first aid along the route. In your registration pack we will include detials of any training or kit required.

Our Hearts First events are a fantastic way for you to look after your heart whilst raising vital funds to help the British Heart Foundation continue its pioneering, life-saving work.

We ask that all participants raise sponsorship for taking part - the BHF depends on these kind donations to help save vulnerable lives every day.

How to enter

Entry fees are £10 for adults and £5 for 12 to 16 year olds which includes a free t-shirt. Any places still remaining on the day will be charged at a higher entry fee.

To register please fill in the attached form and return to the BHF or register online. Once registered you will receive further information on the ride itself, tips on raising sponsorship as well as your participant number to wear in the day.

Closing date for web and postal entries is Sunday 29 June.
